Sometime toward the end of 2013, I started an unofficial "Cookbook of the Month" club for myself. This was part of an ongoing effort to curb my rampant cookbook acquisition habits, as well as satisfy my enthusiasm for beautiful, interesting, unique, and out-of-print cookbooks. The concept is simple: once a month, I pick a book from my (ever growing) cookbook wish list, buy it, read it, and cook a few things from it.

Every few months, I'll feature my current pick on Field & Forest, along with a few recipes adapted from or inspired by said book. It may be a new book, possibly one you're already familiar with, or it may be something older or under the radar that I think is truly special. Want to suggest a cookbook? Let me know!
